How & where do I upload my files?
UPLOAD WITH FTP SOFTWARE:  The recommended method to upload your files is by using FTP Software. We recommend using the popular and free Filezilla FTP client. You can download Filezilla at http://filezilla-project.org.

Your FTP settings are as follows:
HOST: ftp.<yourdomain>  (Where <yourdomain> is your actual domain, e.g. ftp.example.com)
USERNAME & PASSWORD:  Any FTP user name and password that you have setup in your server control panel can log in to the server via FTP. However to upload to your /home directory (where your pages need to be uploaded to for viewing by browser) you need to use your admin user/pass. This is generally the same user/pass that you use to access your control panel.   NOTE: Email users do not have FTP access.

NOTE: If your domain does not resolve to the server yet (you haven't updated the domains name servers to point to our name servers, or your domain is still hosted elsewhere) YOU MUST use the IP address as the Host in your FTP software. Your IP address was provided in the confirmation email you received when you activated your hosting account with us.

Where you upload your files to depends on which server you are hosted on. If you have your FTP software default directory set to / (yes just a forward slash) NOTE: Filezilla is set this way by default.  This will bring you into your home directory. You will then see one of these three directories. /public_html   /httpdocs   or /htdocs  You will upload to whichever one of these directories you see.  NOTE: Your Home Page MUST be named index.html and you should choose Yes to over-wright the current index.html (the default holding page) when prompted by your FTP software. OR if you wish to name your Home Page index.htm, index.php, index.asp, default.htm, etc. you must delete the default index.html page.

NOTE: CPanel Users  can optionally setup additional FTP users in your control panel. However these users will only have access to their individual space, e.g. public_html/<user name> (where <user name> is the actual username you set up).  Additionally these users will need to use their full email address as their username to connect via FTP e.g. <user name>@<your domain> (user@example.com). In order to upload pages to the Home directory (whereas pages are viewable by domain e.g. http://www.example.com) You must use your Admin User/Pass, the same user/pass as you use to log into your control panel.

ALTERNATIVE METHOD TO UPLOAD YOUR FILES:  All of our Control Panels have a "File Manager" feature. From the File Manager you can upload a single page at a time.  From the file manager section in your control panel you will find options to upload new files, edit current files which have been uploaded, and delete files. While the File Manger feature works well for uploading only a few pages to your website it can be a very slow method if you have a lot of pages to upload.
