Transferring domains requires numerous steps and can be a hassle due to the multiple parties involved. You do not have to transfer your domain name to host your website somewhere else. You can simply change your domain's nameservers to your web host's nameservers (contact them for the correct nameservers) by logging into Manage Domain.
There are two parts to preparing your domain for transferring out:
I. Unlock the domain:
- Login to Manage Domain at http://4domains.com/manage with the domain password (click here to resend the password).
- Click Remove Domain Security and Remove Domain Privacy.
II. Disable Whois Spam protection that masks emails against spammers (e.g. 1126072322_1@nowhoisspam.com):
- Manage Domain at http://4domains.com/manage and select Go next to I need to update the contact information.
- Click edit these details under the Admin ID.
- Click here under Disable Anti-Spam Whois Feature. If there is a notice that the contact is used on more than one domain, go to http://4domains.com/manage and login to Manage Contacts on the right with the Admin Contact ID to disable No Whois Spam.
- If the domain is under a backroom account, login to http://4domains.com/backroom, click Config at the top right, and set Accredited Whois to No under Whois Options.
- If you have already initiated the transfer already, contact your new registrar (who you paid for the transfer) to restart the transfer.
Ensure that the admin contact email is a good working email address as you will be sent a transfer confirmation email to this address.
